Solar cycles 2, 10, 13, 17 and 20 are those that most easily compare to the development of cycle 23, particularly cycles 17 and 20 developed similarly to cycle 23. The chart below displays the development of all those cycles during their 10 first years.

The X axis in the chart is the number of months from the start of a cycle, while the Y axis is the international monthly smoothed sunspot number.
