KONG1 was held at the worst possible time of the year, in the end of January 1997. The weather was ferocious at times, but the planes arrived (and sadly departed) on schedule. Conditions were reasonably good, with WFOB Fostoria OH 1430 as a premium logging. Arnstein, Rolf and Bjarne participated.

KONG2 was the result of guys wanting to return, but we set the date to around Oct. 20 1997 since the weather is usually less challenging at that time of the year. We were blessed with very good conditions especially towards North America, and KBOW Butte MT 550 and KPLT Paris TX 1490 were probably the best ones. Also, we cleared the Hawaiian and Alaskan AM scene (with a couple of most wanted exeptions). Arnstein, Rolf, Bjarne and Tore Nilsen from Hamar participated.

KONG3 was arranged around Oct. 10 1998 and was totally different from 1 and 2 in that North Americans were almost totally wiped out! Instead, we had tremendous signals from parts of Asia, especially the Philippines (18 stations logged), and we also logged Australia (Melbourne 729 kHz). Some SW DX-ing was done and Indonesian stations came in quite well. Arnstein, Rolf and Bjarne were the tremendous trio.
